Event Summary Are you familiar with the process when an employee notifies you they are expecting a baby? Or someone requests a period of paternity leave? Do you know how to manage a Shared Parental Leave request?

This session will focus on the practical steps you will need to take to support your employees and ensure the correct actions are being taken. It will also cover contractual and statutory leave periods as well as going into detail around the pay employees can receive whilst on leave.
Event description
This is a two hour training session which will provide an overview on:
 
* Maternity Leave
* Adoption Leave
* Paternity Leave
* Shared Parental Leave
* Parental Leave 
 
The session will also cover complex matters such as Shared Parental Leave, to make sure you understand governmental guidance and how it applies to your school and staff.

Learning outcomes At the end of the workshop delegates will:
  • Understand the different types of child related absence and when each type can be used 
  • understand the specific time windows related to Maternity, Adoption and Shared Parental Leave 
  • Be able to support your staff with child related absence queries, and ensure the correct pay and leave information is given 
  • Be aware of the resources and support available.
